Jason Collins will be signed by the Brooklyn Nets for the remainder of the season, reports Rod Boone of Newsday. Although it’s not official yet, Kidd confirmed this news today at practice in Miami.
Many wondered if the Nets would sign the hard-screening, even harder-fouling Collins past his two ten-day contracts, noting, however, that he brought tons of defensive intelligence in the paint that the team lacked without Garnett on the floor.
So far this year, the seven-footer has averaged 0.6 PPG, 0.8 RPG, 0.3 APG and has racked up 18 personal fouls in just 77 minutes, but his contributions go far beyond the statistics.
