Even if the Brooklyn Nets don’t care about the division, they’ve got the best chance of winning it, according to the oddsmakers.
The Brooklyn Nets enter tonight’s preseason game with 1-2 odds to win the Atlantic Division, according to Los Vegas oddsmakers Bovoda. The New York Knicks come in second, with 7-4 odds, and the rest of the division lags far behind.
The Nets aren’t concerned with the division banner, though. Paul Pierce said as much on media day: “I came here to win a championship, I don’t even want to see that banner put up if we win (the division).” Sure enough, the Nets are 11-2 odds to win the Eastern Conference Championship (fourth in the Conference) and 10-1 odds to win the NBA championship (tied for fifth in the NBA).
