Thomas Robinson will sit out the last game of the season for the Brooklyn Nets to rest a sore right knee, the team announced Tuesday. Robinson suffered the knee injury in the first half against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night and sat out Monday night’s loss to the Washington Wizards.
Robinson played 71 games for the Nets (7 starts), averaging 4.3 points and 5.1 rebounds in 12.9 minutes per game, including double-doubles in his last six full games before suffering the injury.
Near the end of the season, Robinson made an impassioned plea for more playing time, whether it be in Brooklyn or elsewhere, calling himself a “20 minutes per game player.” The former 5th overall pick has a player option for a little over $1 million next season.
