Today, the Nets announced that they have signed guard Keith Bogans and waived small forward Larry Owens, a former D-League call up.
In a statement, Billy King said: “Keith will give us defensive toughness and experience. He will add depth and versatility to our perimeter.”
Bogans started in all 82 games last season for the Chicago Bulls, who posted a league-best 62 wins. The Nets have had a habit the last few seasons of scooping up 4th or 5th best starters on good teams. Past examples include Courtney Lee after the Magic went to the finals, DeShawn Stevenson this season, and now Bogans. Hopefully he can bring a strong defensive presence while the Nets wait for the return of Brooks and Stevenson, as well as put up some threes, where the Nets currently lead the league in points and attempts.
