Brooklyn Nets sophomores Tyshawn Taylor and Tornike Shengelia have been assigned to the team’s D-League affiliate Springfield Armor, the team announced today. Neither has played in a game this season.
The Armor begin training camp Friday (tomorrow), with Taylor and Shengelia on hand. Other notable invitees include Nets training camp invitees Gary Forbes and Adonis Thomas.
Per the rules of the collective bargaining agreement, the Nets are allowed to send down and call up Taylor & Shengelia as many times as they’d like this season, without their consent. That ability expires at the end of this season.
As we’ve noted in this space, Tyshawn Taylor’s production last year in the D-League is eerily similar to Russell Westbrook, and while Tornike Shengelia more closely resembles one LeBron James.
