It’s not clear how the offseason will end for Nets general manager Billy King, but he knows how it’ll start: by making an offer to starting guard Shaun Livingston.
“Priority number one,” King said of re-signing Livingston, who has hit career highs in points, minutes played, and games started with the Nets in 2013-14.
“Come July 1, I’ll meet with him and his agent, and try to keep him here.”
Barring a spectacular change in how math works, the Nets will only be able to offer Livingston the taxpayer mid-level exception, a three-year contract with modest raises starting at $3.28 million per year.
Livingston has averaged 8.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 25.4 minutes per game with the Nets this season.
