The Brooklyn Nets traveled to Minnesota for their lone road game against the Minnesota Timberwolves Monday night, and outside of a blowout 122-106 win over the heavily depleted lottery-bound team, it was a chance to see Kevin Garnett once more. YES Network remembered Garnett for his production in Brooklyn, as well as his off-court influence, which stretched beyond the usual locker room stories. As Ryan Ruocco & Mike Fratello note, Garnett was a serial chalk-clapper right at the table, making for some rough air quality for men who pride their careers on public speaking.
The best reactions by far come from Jim Spanarkel, who ranges between preemptively waving it away and soaking it in like it’s deodorant.
While nobody can replicate Garnett’s locker room presence, at least Nets commentators can breathe again… and the Nets have a power forward who can score regularly in the paint.
For now, we wish the best of luck to the Timberwolves play-by-play crew.
