Brooklyn Nets All-Star guard Joe Johnson will participate in the league’s 2014 Foot Locker Three-Point Contest, the league announced today.
Johnson has averaged 5.0 three-point attempts per game in 2013-14, hitting at a 38.9 percent clip. Mirza Teletovic and fans had recently rallied around his inclusion, but with Johnson already in New Orleans as an All-Star reserve, the league decided to put Johnson in instead. Teletovic has shot 42 percent on 4.8 attempts per game this season.
Johnson is a seven-time All-Star, but has never competed in the three-point contest. He becomes the third Nets player in NBA history to compete in the contest, after Drazen Petrovic (1992) and Anthony Morrow (2012).
