Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson will sit out tonight’s Nets game against the Portland Trail Blazers with a quad contusion and is not sure about his status for the rest of the Nets’ Circus Trip, according to the New York Post’s Tim Bontemps.
Johnson will sit for the second consecutive game after injuring the quad in the third quarter against the Los Angeles Clippers Saturday night. Johnson scored 21 points on 10-19 shooting the last time these two teams faced, a 98-85 victory at Barclays Center in November.
Johnson is averaging 15.9 points, 3.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per 36 minutes this season, shooting 42.3% from the field and 37.2% from deep. Keith Bogans will start in his place. Bogans also started Sunday night, when Johnson sat out against the Phoenix Suns.
