Joe Johnson OUT, Gerald Wallace GTD vs. Cavs

Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson is out tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers while forward Gerald Wallace is a game-time decision, the Brooklyn Nets announced today.

Johnson has missed the last four games with a a right quadriceps contusion and a sore left heel. The 6’7″ shooting guard injured the quad in a 101-95 loss at the Los Angeles Clippers on March 23rd. The heel injury has been an ongoing issue since Iso-Joe began to feel discomfort on the back end of  a February home-and-home sweep of the Milwaukee Bucks  after the All-Star break. Johnson missed the subsequent three games before returning to the lineup on March 1.

Johnson practiced fully with the team on Tuesday and is likely to re-join the lineup when the Nets return home tomorrow night  against the Bulls. Tonight concludes the eight-game, 17-day Circus road trip. The Nets are 4-3 on the trip, losing the last two games at the Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz.

Wallace sat out yesterday’s practice with a sore left foot. While he is listed as a GTD, Crash told Newsday‘s Rod Boone this morning that he would play tonight, because that’s what Gerald Wallace does.
