Joe Johnson (stomach virus) has been ruled out for tonight’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Nets announced today. Johnson joined Brook Lopez, who will be re-evaluated next weekend after suffering a lower back strain, on the inactive list. Andrei Kirilenko is also not expected to play.
Johnson has averaged 15.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in the team’s first 18 games without missing a start. It’s not clear who the Nets will start in his place, but presumably either Jarrett Jack or Alan Anderson will take Johnson’s place and either Mirza Teletovic or Mason Plumlee will take Lopez’s.
The Cavaliers are on a six-game winning streak and enter Brooklyn with most of their rotation intact.
