The Brooklyn Nets are reportedly interested in 6’11 forward Jan Vesely, according to Ismail Senol, a respected Turkish writer. Vesely, the #6 overall pick in 2011, lasted just three seasons with the Washington Wizards before spending 21 games in Denver to cap off his first stint in the NBA.
Vesely averaged just 4.4 points and 3.7 rebounds over 14 minutes per game with the Nuggets, but has improved since moving to Fenerbahce, jumping those totals to 11.9 and 6.8, respectively. When he was drafted, Vesely was an intriguing athletic prospect that could stretch the floor and hit three-pointers, not dissimilar to the attraction behind Sergey Karasev.
Vesely joins Anthony Bennett as former high-selected draftees that flamed out, but may get another shot at the NBA with Brooklyn. Senol writes that the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans are interested in his services as well.
