Charlotte Bobcats point guard Kemba Walker speaks with YES Network about the challenges of guarding Nets point guard Deron Williams. Both guards have struggled to start the season: Walker, a third-year guard out of Connecticut, has shot just 32.9% from the field and has a career-low assist percentage; Williams has played on balky ankles all year and has averaged just ten points and 6.5 assists per game in eight games.
Walker acknowledges he’ll need help from his teammates to stop Williams, if Williams is playing like his old self. (At least, the good old self.)
Even if Williams doesn’t play much tonight, the diminutive Walker will have his hands full with D-Will’s backup, Shaun Livingston; the 6’7″ Livingston has excelled to start the season in Williams’s place and has a full seven inches on Walker.
The Bobcats and Nets face off at 7 P.M. EST at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. You can watch on YES Network.
