Brooklyn Nets forward Mirza Teletovic has struggled in the past month with inconsistent playing time and a shot that just won’t fall, but that didn’t happen against the Miami Heat. Teletovic fired on all cylinders, hitting three threes in increasingly difficult fashion and ending the game with a bench-high 17 points.
But Teletovic’s most impressive moments came on the other end of the floor, when he matched up with Heat forward and reigning MVP LeBron James. James, perhaps remembering what happened the last time these two teams faced off, made a concerted effort to drive directly at Teletovic, but the Nets forward held his ground, swatting away one of James’s attempts and forcing him to shoot another one off the side of the backboard.
The Nets won 96-95, in no small part thanks to Teletovic’s feats in one of his best games in this calendar year.
