Fantasy Basketball is all about outsmarting your opponents, and much of that is done through grabbing the unfound star in free agency. Here’s our best way to do that in Week 15.
Note: All OWN%’s come from ESPN Fantasy Leagues.
Point Guard:
CHI- Aaron Brooks (8.5%)
Brooks doesn’t do much but score, so if you need a consistent 15 points per night, he’s your man.
CHA- Brian Roberts (7.4%)
Stepping in for the injured Kemba Walker, Roberts has yet to show his Pelicans’ wings from last year’s starting stint. He managed to average 15.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in games where he received 30-plus minutes. Roberts is a project, but can deliver a huge reward if you hold onto him.
LAL- Jordan Clarkson (6.7%)
The Lakers have given their 2014 46th overall pick free range at the 1 recently, and he’s blossoming into a stud. Clarkson’s averaged 18.3 points, 2.7 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game in his last three games.
Shooting Guard:
MIA- Mario Chalmers (28.8%)
Another project, but this one has a greater probability of panning out. Back to starting with Wade out, Chalmers has yet to surge into his early season form, but he’s slowly making strides. Back in November, Chalmers averaged 19.1 points and 6.6 assists in 36 minutes per game with Wade sitting.
LAL- Wayne Ellington (21.3%)
Ever since stepping into the starting lineup for Kobe Bryant, Ellington’s scoring numbers have consistently been on the rise, going from 11 to 28 in only three games.
Small Forward:
CHA- Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (19.1%)
Kidd-Gilchrist is here every week. He’s averaged 14 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in his last four, yet nobody thinks to pick him up. What are you waiting for?
UTA- Joe Ingles (2.6%)
Ingles stepped into the starting lineup for Alec Burks, and the 27-year old Aussie rookie offers a ton of versatility to any fantasy team. He’s listed at three positions in ESPN leagues, and averaged 9.5 points, 4.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in his last four games.
Power Forward:
HOU- Donatas Motiejunas (26.4%)
He’s hot right now, averaging 21 points and 7 rebounds per game in his last three contests. The only thing holding you back is that you can’t spell his name right.
WAS- Kris Humphries (8.1%)
Nene is healthy, but Wiz still have managed to give Humphries 25-plus minutes per night. Last 4 games since the minutes bump: 12.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game.
Center:
CLE- Tristan Thompson (27.6%)
The Cavaliers 6th man has proven to be a rebounding machine, even with Mozgov stealing his starting job. Has averaged 10.3 rebounds per game in his last 10 games.
CHA- Cody Zeller (6.1%)
His minutes are finally floating around the 30-minute mark, where he’s averaging 10.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game on the season.
