Want to be a Brooklyn Nets dancer? Now’s your chance. The Brooklynettes, A.K.A. the Brooklyn Nets dance team, will hold open auditions on June 15 on the LIU Brooklyn Campus (161 Ashland Place) on Saturday, June 15th. The registration opens at 11 A.M., and auditions begin at noon.
Additionally, the Brooklynnettes will offer preparatory classes for interested dancers. From the official announcement:
Before open auditions, the Brooklynettes will hold Audition Intensive prep classes on Saturday, June 1 at the Wellness, Recreation & Athletic Center on the LIU Brooklyn campus.
The prep classes will feature two Brooklynettes routines straight from the Barclays Center court, first round audition choreography instruction, and audition tips from the Brooklynettes coach and team captain. Those who attend both sessions will receive an automatic pass through the first round of auditions. For more information on the prep classes, visit brooklynettes.com.
Potential dancers must be at least 18 years or older and have at least eight years of formal dance training. The Brooklynettes ask that you arrive in two-piece attire, performance hair, and makeup. Callback auditions will occur from June 16-18.
