The Democratic National Committee (DNC) announced that Brooklyn remains one of three cities in contention to host the committee’s national convention in 2016.
The Borough joins Philadelphia, PA and Columbus Ohio (two cities in traditional battleground states) as finalists to nominate the DNC’s Presidential candidate. In addition to the finalists, the DNC announced that three weeks are being examined to host the week-long convention: July 18, July 25 and August 22.
If selected, the Barclays Center would host the convention, and members of the DNC Technical Advisory Committee visited the arena in August as part of the selection process.
