Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez is officially out tonight against the Detroit Pistons with a sprained left ankle. Lopez was originally listed as questionable, but the team officially ruled him out roughly 90 minutes before game time.
Lopez injured the ankle the night before in the third quarter against the Los Angeles Clippers, and his status ahead is uncertain. He traveled with the team to Detroit. The Nets have Saturday and Sunday off before they play the Philadelphia 76ers at home Monday night.
The Nets will start Reggie Evans in Lopez’s place. Evans was the only Nets player not to play in Thursday night’s victory, even as fans chanted his name late in the fourth quarter.
