Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez may have played some of his best defense of the season last night, finishing with six blocks in the box score and pestering DeMarcus Cousins into an off night. But he did help Cousins en route to at least one basket: after Sacramento Kings forward Omri Casspi badly missed a shot off the side of the backboard, Lopez, who contested Casspi’s shot, turned around and got a basketball right in the noggin. Cousins caught the easy bounce for a layup to trim the Nets lead to 13.
The Nets eventually won, 103-100. But just imagine if they’d lost by one.
