According to a conversation Gerald Wallace had with Mike Mazzeo of ESPNNewYork, Wallace will not be playing in tomorrow’s game against the Boston Celtics. The team officially announced his status as out today. MarShon Brooks is listed as a game-time decision.

The Brooklyn Nets officially announced today that Gerald Wallace will not play tonight against the Boston Celtics. Gerald Wallace was aware of this yesterday, from ESPN New York:

Brooklyn Nets forward Gerald Wallace will miss his sixth straight game Thursday against the Boston Celtics due to a sprained left ankle.

“I’m not playing tomorrow,” Wallace told ESPN NewYork.com at a TopSpin charity event Wednesday in Manhattan. “I’m basically day to day. I’m just doing what they tell me. I’ll be re-evaluated in the morning and then we’ll go from there.”

Wallace has been out since initially suffering the injury late in Brooklyn’s season-opening victory over the Toronto Raptors on Nov. 3.

Coach Avery Johnson had earlier told reporters that Wallace was 50-50, and without Wallace’s first declarative statement, the rest of his quote would seem to indicate that he’s still uncertain. But, from his mouth, he’s not playing tomorrow. So presume that the Nets will start Keith Bogans in his place, until they’re comfortable enough to play C.J. Watson for the rest of that time.

Brooks, dealing with a similar (albeit less severe) left ankle injury to Wallace, was listed as a game-time decision for tonight by the club.
