The Brooklyn Nets have recalled Tornike Shengelia from their D-League affiliate Springfield Armor, the team announced today. This was Shengelia’s third and longest stint with the Armor, playing in three games and most recently leading the Armor to a 130-112 victory over the Erie Bayhawks with a team-high 26 points on 9-14 shooting. The 130 points were an Armor franchise record. According to Gary Sussman, Armor GM Milton Lee (“The General”) and Brooklyn Nets Assistant GM Bobby Marks were in attendance.

In six games for the Armor this season, Shengelia averaged of 26.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.7 steals per game on 57.7% shooting from the field. It would not be shocking in the least to see the Nets send him down again to get more playing time if he can’t crack the rotation in Brooklyn.
