Brook Lopez has been named as Rajon Rondo's replacement on the All-Star team, the NBA announced today. Rondo originally was named the starting point guard but was removed from the game after tearing his ACL.Brooklyn Nets center
This is Brook Lopez's first All-Star appearance, the 13th All-Star appearance in Nets franchise history, and the first Brooklyn Nets player named to an All-Star team.
In 38 games this season, the 24-year-old Lopez averages 18.6 points (best among NBA centers), 7.3 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in 29.3 minutes per game on 52.3% shooting from the field. The Nets outscore opponents by 5.4 points per 100 possessions with Lopez on the floor. Lopez also ranks fourth in the NBA with a 25.23 PER.
Lopez becomes the only Brooklyn Nets player on the All-Star Roster and currently the only one involved in any All-Star festivities.
