Spurs keep falling: Boris Diaw out vs. Nets tonight

The Nets haven’t beaten the San Antonio Spurs since March 29, 2010, but tonight may mark their best shot yet.

The Spurs, who were already without Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, and Kawhi Leonard, announced that backup forward Boris Diaw will sit out with food poisoning.

Diaw has played in 47 of the team’s 49 games this season, averaging 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 24.6 minutes per game, shooting 55.3 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from three-point range.

The loss leaves the Spurs with just ten healthy bodies and two regular starters for tonight’s game.

The Nets have had their fair share of injuries, but only expect to be without Brook Lopez, who is out for the season with a broken foot. Andray Blatche, Joe Johnson, and Andrei Kirilenko have all missed time recently, but practiced with the team yesterday and fully expect to play tonight.
