Pierce: “Watch out when I get there”

Pierce: “Watch out when I get there”

He’s talking, of course, about stealing all of his new teammates’ money in poker.

Paul Pierce was spotted at the World Series of Poker yesterday, raking in cash at a $10,000 buy-in table.

According to CardPlayer.com, here’s the latest on Paul Pierce’s poker game:

“Professional basketball player Paul Pierce was sparring with professional poker players on Saturday in Las Vegas — and was actually doing quite well.

Pierce made the trip to the 2013 World Series of Poker and entered the $10,000 buy-in pot-limit Omaha championship, an event which always draws the best of the best.

At around 5 p.m. local time on Saturday, Piece had a stack of nearly 250,000, which put him as one of the top 10 stacks with 143 left.

On one hand, Piece turned a straight flush on a board reading 10 heart 7 diamond 4 diamond 6 diamond, and he crippled an opponent. Some in the room were considering the hand a slowroll because Pierce thought about the call briefly with the A heart 3 diamond 5 diamond 3 diamond.”

Things got a little more interesting in a video interview during the tournament, when he was asked if he’d hone his poker skills with his new Brooklyn Nets teammates, of which Pierce said…

This marks the first time Paul Pierce has mentioned the trade to the Nets.
