Jerry Stackhouse hasn't played in a game since January 26th. He's been hibernating for the playoffs. But before the playoffs start, Stackhouse has to play just a little bit to get himself back into mauling opponents shape.

Here's 38-year-old Jerry Freaking Stackhouse hitting a left-handed, no-look circus shot on a professional basketball team's defense. Jerry Stackhouse is the best. Watch:

Deron Williams is back, exhibit #4958904. Strong, quick, great spin, finishing at the rim.

Now if only he'd dunk -- and he's already tried this game. It'll happen eventually. I hope.

Deron Williams, making Jose Calderon look silly with the crossover and the jumper. Watch:

This hasn't happened much for Brooklyn this season. Which part? Oh, pick one: Deron Williams beating an opposing guard up the floor in transition, Gerald Wallace making a shot at the rim, or the Nets completing an alley-oop.

Nice to see Wallace's athleticism still exists and is getting put to good use. Watch:

Tonight: Following one of the worst seven-minute fourth-quarter stretches the 38-28 Brooklyn Nets have slogged through this year, getting outscored 24-9 by the Atlanta Hawks in said stretch to turn a tie game into garbage time, the Nets wipe the slate clean en route to Detroit to take on the 23-45 Detroit Pistons at 7:30 P.M. EST at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit. The Pistons have lost eight straight and haven't had rookie sensation Andre Drummond since he suffered a back injury the last time these two teams played.

Joe Johnson

The Brooklyn Nets embark on an eight-game, 17-day road trip that's bound to either catapult them into the lead in the Atlantic Division or help them crash and burn on their way to a disappointing playoff seed and a terrifying first-round exit. Luckily for them, it couldn't start against a much better opponent, in that they're playing a terrible opponent: the 23-45 Detroit Pistons in Detroit. The Pistons, playing without Andre Drummond and possibly without Brandon Knight, are well out of the playoff hunt and look primed to make a race towards the bottom for a potential top-5 pick.

Joining me to answer three questions about tonight's game and matchup is the incomparable Dan Feldman, showrunner over at expert Detroit Pistons blog PistonPowered. There's nowhere better to get expertise on the Pistons, so anything you're curious about that you don't read here, go there and I'm sure Dan's got 15 posts on it.

And, as always: The BK Game Streak is up. Good luck, you cranks.

Onward!

Devin: The Pistons have lost eight in a row and they seem like they're cruising into "tank for a high draft pick" territory. Do you think that's the case? Do you expect them to be competitive tonight?

The Game Starts Now... MORE →

After a rough seven-minute stretch turned a close contest against the Atlanta Hawks into a laughable loss, the Nets embark on an eight-game road trip, starting tonight against the Detroit Pistons. Along with a shot at redemption, you know what this means: The BK Game Streak LIVES ON!

The game is as simple as it sounds:

1. The contest relies on a standard betting line for each game. (Note: you must be logged into Facebook to play.) To make your prediction, select YES or NO to agree or disagree. For example: today's line is "Brooklyn will beat Detroit by 3 or more points." If you think Brooklyn will win by three or more points, select "YES." If you think Brooklyn will win by one or two points, or Detroit will win, select "NO."

2. String together wins and try to get the longest streak of correct predictions before the end of the NBA regular season. Follow game results on the leaderboard on the right sidebar.

At the end of the season, we'll award three prizes to the players with the best three streaks: The Gold Net Trophy (longest streak) and a $200 Amazon Gift Card will be awarded to first place, the Silver Net Trophy (second-longest streak) and a $50 Amazon Gift Card to second place, and the Bronze Net Trophy (third-longest streak) $25 Amazon Gift Card and a Bronze Net Trophy to third place.

A little bit of gamesmanship: our two leaders decided not to risk their streak last night, passing on the Hawks-Nets prediction. Will they try to stretch to 9 tonight?

Read more rules for the contest here.

Good luck!

Tornike Shengelia Brooklyn Nets

Tornike Shengelia (AP)

The Brooklyn Nets have once again assigned rookies Tornike Shengelia and Tyshawn Taylor to their D-League Affiliate Springfield Armor. This is the fifth assignment for Shengelia and the fourth for Taylor. In seven games with the Armor, Shengelia is averaging 25.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game. In five games, Taylor is averaging 25.4 points, 7.6 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game.

It's unclear how long the Nets will keep Taylor & Shengelia with the Armor, but the send-down today means that the two won't make the trip to Detroit tonight. The Armor play next Tuesday against the Erie Bayhawks.

For those of you curious, teams can send down and call up players at the organization's whim as much as they choose in their first three years of service in the NBA. After the first three years, teams require consent from the player.

Thanks to Springfield Armor Public Relations for information contributing to this report.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Enormous magnitude. Whether directly stated or overtly implied, each member of the now 38-28 Brooklyn Nets agreed that there was a level of urgency missing from their play tonight, and that this game's importance was completely lost on them -- if only for a seven-minute stretch in the fourth. Even in a game where Reggie Evans played his best game of the season, finishing three left-handed layups & baby hooks in the first quarter, and ending the game with 14 points and 22 rebounds, the Nets couldn't end the game on a high note, getting outscored 34-20 in the fourth quarter en route to a 105-93 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
