6. DeShawn’s Accidental Half-Court Shot
This is the first DeShawn Stevenson botched alley-oop attempt to make it on our list (an additional one was honorably mentioned), and it is a beauty. First of all, why is DeShawn attempting an alley-oop from halfcourt in the first place? When the team is down 15 late in the third quarter? Secondly, why does he seem so nonchalant about the fact that he just accidentally hit a half-court shot? Doesn’t he realize that he just marginally increased his three-point percentage and cut a 15-point lead to 12? Thirdly, why does everyone else look equally nonchalant? Does everyone understand what they just saw?
Not counting accidental half-court alley oops, Stevenson shot 40-144 (.277) from beyond the arc in 2011-12.
