The Brooklyn Nets announced Friday the signing of 6-foot, 4-inch shooting guard Yakuba “Billy” Ouattara to a two-way contract.

Ouattara, a 25-year-old player from Ghana, has spent the last four years playing for the French LNB Pro A league. The past season, playing for AS Monaco Basket, Ouattara averaged 11.8 points on 51.4 percent shooting and 3.3 rebounds in 23.9 minutes per game over 32 games, per the Nets press release. He also put up a 40 percent shooting clip from three.

According to David Pick, the Nets were one of three teams to work out the guard last month.

Under the two-way deal, it is likely Ouattara spends the majority of his time playing in the G League with the Long Island Nets. The two-way contract does not count as a part of Brooklyn’s 15-man roster.
