The Nets were interested in the athletic youngster, nearly signing him before Greene broke his ankle working out for the team in late August. Brooklyn could use a formidable backup for Gerald Wallace; even if the Nets intend to start Wallace at the 4, grabbing an athlete like Greene would benefit the team. One thing that the bench mob seems to lack is the high-flying freak that Gerald Green filled last year. Someone that can energize the often-dull atmosphere in Barclays would bring more positive results than leaving it open. Greene almost got his shot four months ago, and we were on board then, right?
