Nets to hold pre-draft workouts June 24th & 25th

The Brooklyn Nets will hold pre-draft workouts for a number of second-round prospects on June 24th and 25th at their practice facility in East Rutherford, NJ, the team announced today. Nets GM Billy King will talk to the media after the second workout.

Here’s a list of the prospects that the Nets will work out:

Prospect list: June 24

Langston Hall G Mercer 6’4″ 180
Branden Frazier G Fordham 6’3″ 170
Cameron Clark F Oklahoma 6’7″ 209
Kyle Casey F Harvard 6’7″ 225
Akil Mitchell F Virginia 6’8″ 233
Cory Jefferson F Baylor 6’9″ 220
Artem Klimenko C BC Saratov/Russia 7’0” 242

Prospect list: June 25

Semaj Christon G Xavier 6’3″ 190
Xavier Thames G San Diego St. 6’2″ 190
C.J. Fair F Syracuse 6’8″ 215
James McAdoo F North Carolina 6’9″ 230
Johnny O’Bryant F/C LSU 6’9″ 256
Ronald Roberts F St. Joseph’s 6’8″ 220

Of the prospects, none are expected to go in the first round according to nearly every major mock draft. Though the Nets don’t currently own a pick in this year’s draft, they do have some assets that may be able to land them a second round pick or even a late first round pick.

Among those assets is the expiring contracts of Marcus Thornton ($8.6 million), around $2 million in cash and the draft rights to Europe’s Bojan Bogdanovic. Two years ago, the Nets were able to buy into the 2nd round to select Kansas point guard Tyshawn Taylor with the 41st overall pick.
