This probably isn’t news to most of you, since the Nets pretty much hold the title for “most expensive (enter your favorite term here) in the NBA,” but the Nets are in fact the highest-paid trio in the NBA, as Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News notes:

He’s right. Here’s a look at the top 10 most expensive trios in the league, with the Nets and New York Knicks far and away the most expensive.

Here’s the full list:

Big 3 Cost, Most To Least Expensive
Note: ESPN’s salary page did not include Utah Jazz forward Gordon Hayward’s contract extension, which kicked in this year for $14.746 million. Even adjusting for that, the Jazz still rank in the bottom 10 of the NBA.

At close to $58.7 million, Brooklyn’s core nearly takes up the entire salary cap, and the Knicks are just a little over $1 million behind. Hey, at least the Nets’ “Big 3” is made up with three starters — though when you’re talking the most expensive troikas around, “starting-quality” probably isn’t the phrase you’re looking for.
