Nets’ Bogdanovic scores 15 in slim Croatian victory

We haven’t covered too much of Brooklyn’s European players here on The Brooklyn Game, but here’s one from this morning: Brooklyn Nets Eurostash Bojan Bogdanovic scored 15 points as Croatia eked out a victory over Georgia, 77-76. The win moves Croatia to 1-1 in FIBA’s Group C Preliminary Round.

With Croatia down one and 21 seconds remaining, head coach Jasmin Repesa elected to go with Bogdanovic for the win as his first option. Bogdanovic drew a foul trying to get a shot up, but the foul was ruled on the floor. Croatia eventually ran a successful pick-and-roll with Dontaye “Dick Wittman” Draper and Ante Tomic to take the lead.

Bogdanovic finished the game 6-13 from the field and 2-3 from three-point range, with all four of his two-pointers coming inside the restricted area. Bogdanovic also finished with a team-high +7.

The next time you can catch Bogdanovic: September 7th at 11:45 EST against Poland.
