At a community event in Long Island City Friday afternoon, NBA commissioner Adam Silver was on hand to help pack donated food with veterans, other executives, and Nets players for City Harvest. He also had a few moments to talk about the NBA at large, including Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov’s most recent spat with Jason Kidd.

When asked about former Nets coach Kidd, the always-entertaining Prokhorov jabbed him with an English proverb: “don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord has split you.”

Silver didn’t get in the mud himself, according to the New York Daily News:

“I think Prokhorov has a great sense of humor,” Silver said at a community event with the entire Nets team at a City Harvest Food Rescue facility in Long Island City. “That was what I thought.”

Silver also reiterated Prokhorov’s earlier comments that he had no intention of selling the team. Prokhorov has reportedly looked into a combination of assets with the Guggenheim partnership, which owns the Los Angeles Dodgers trademark, as well as pricing his 80% stake at $1.7 billion to no avail.

“He was enjoying ownership and he has every intention of maintaining control of the Nets,” Silver said, according to the report.
