Jason Terry will play Wednesday vs. Boston

Brooklyn Nets guard Jason Terry says he’ll play his first preseason game against the Boston Celtics Wednesday. Terry sat out most of training camp and has played limited practice time after undergoing knee surgery in the offseason.

“The original goal for me this year coming off injury was to play the last two preseason games and build up and go into the season,” Terry said Sunday before the team’s open practice at Barclays Center. “So I’m on schedule.”

Terry said during training camp that the surgery was just to “clean things up” that any 36-year-old might have in his knee.

“I feel strong,” Terry said when asked about his knee. “It feels very strong. Again, Timmy (Walsh, Nets trainer) and Robby (Hoenshel, assistant trainer), those two guys, and Jeremy (Bettle), the strength coach, have done a phenomenal job with me. At this point right now, it’s probably 80% mental, 20% physical.”

Terry added there was no ill will between him and Boston, and that he thinks of Celtics guard Avery Bradley like a brother.
