Injury Report: Josh Childress out for Saturday’s opener

Avery Johnson confirmed at practice today that small forward Josh Childress’s sore left ankle will keep him out of Saturday’s opening night game against the Toronto Raptors. “Towards the end of practice (yesterday), he felt something,” Johnson said to reporters. “Tim (Walsh, team trainer) examined him after practice. He came out and did some non-contact stuff today, but he’s not ready to play in the game.”

Childress is 50-50 for Monday.
