ESPN: Dwight-to-Lakers deal is done

by Chris Hooker August 10, 2012 Comments

It looks like the Dwightmare is finally over. ESPN is reporting that a four-team deal that will send Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers is done and will be finalized tomorrow morning. This will ultimately end the Nets’ pursuit of Howard because they will only be able to offer him the veterans minimum when he becomes a free agent next season.

Here is how the trade will break down for each of the four teams:

Lakers get Howard
Nuggets get Andre Iguodala
76ers get Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson
Magic get Aaron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic, Moe Harkless and a protected first round pick from each team

We will update you more as this story breaks, but for now, I think every Nets fan has a right to be fairly angry at the Orlando Magic brass. I can’t think of a worse haul for the Magic, but that’s just me.

All I can say is, Brooklyn better be ready for Feb. 5 — Dwight Howard’s first visit to the Barclays Center.
