Deron Williams lends a helping hand

Deron WilliamsThroughout Deron Williams’ rapidly fluctuating career, there’s one thing that hasn’t changed in the Nets’ franchise point guard: the love and dedication to his charity, Point of Hope Foundation.

From golf to dodgeball, Williams has always given careful attention to his foundation, and this week was no different. With a chilly holiday coming up this Thursday, it’s always nice to lend a helping hand. For seven hours on Saturday, Williams and other volunteers helped serve Thanksgiving meals to those in need.

“It’s good to be able to give back — especially around this time,” Williams told ESPNNewYork.com. “Thanksgiving is a time for giving, and I just wanted to try to feed some families. We’re working with eight different housing developments close to the Barclays Center. So it’s just about being able to give back, spend some time and have fun.”

About 2,000 Brooklyn residents from the New York Housing Authority received meals.
