The Ten Most YouTubable Moments Of The 2013-14 Nets Season

6) Full Blatcheness.

We’ve been fortunate enough to see two incredible years of Andray Blatche going Blatche. Step-back shots with no business going in. Double- and triple-fakes at no one in particular. Careless behind-the-back dribble turnovers and no-look passes that end up in the right place at the wrong time. I’ve watched him for two years and still have no idea how he does this.

Blatche resonates with me because Blatche plays NBA basketball the way I would if I were him, and he succeeds. For all the talk about the sacredness of the game, Blatche bends the court sideways for his own amusement. He does things centers shouldn’t do and does them against guards. He does just enough of the boring, in-the-paint, dominate-the-little-guys grunt work to give him full license to turn into a whirling dervish of absurdity.

He’s a 6’11” Peter Pan. I hope he never grows up.
