For the first time in over a decade, the Brooklyn Nets are going to Las Vegas. The NBA released their official Vegas Summer League schedule today, and the first Nets game comes on July 11th against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Summer league teams are highlighted by first- and second-year players, as well as random free agent fill-ins. So they won’t have to take their chances against LeBron James in exhibitions.

The Nets will play against the Cavaliers on 7 P.M. July 11th, the New Orleans Hornets at 1:30 P.M. on July 13th, and the Chicago Bulls at 2:00 P.M. on July 14th. After that, the Summer League playoffs and consolation games begin.

The Nets are also going to play in Orlando’s Summer League before Las Vegas, which is standard practice for them. Center Mason Plumlee, headed into his third season, is expected to play for the Nets in both Orlando and Las Vegas. Ditto for Cory Jefferson, Markel Brown, and Xavier Thames, the trio of sophomore players picked up by the Nets in last year’s draft, as well as whoever the Nets draft this time around. Beyond that is anyone’s guess, though they could pick up an undrafted player or two from their pre-draft workouts.
