Keith Bogans: Stay hot

In addition to some consistent perimeter defense, Keith Bogans has been hot from the perimeter. After scoring zero points in 9 consecutive games, Bogans had his coming-out party against the Knicks on December 19th, scoring 11 points with 3-5 shooting from downtown. Since that December 19th game, Bogans has shot 14-24 from deep. Bogans needs to keep his hot hand to stay part of a Brooklyn Nets rotation that is in desperate need of his perimeter defense and perimeter shooting. It had allowed Avery Johnson (and now P.J. Carlesimo) to insert Bogans into the starting lineup.

We already have a serviceable starting power forward. Unfortunately, he’s doing duty as our backup five right now. If we had a legitimate second-string centre, we’d be able to shift Blatche to his natural position at the four and run Reggie or Kris with the second unit.
