Around the Nets Thursday: Crash Opts Out, Teletovic Narrows Choices

  • With the deadline at midnight Wednesday, Gerald Wallace officially declined to exercise his player option and did not sign an extension, making him an unrestricted free agent on July 1. The Nets still retain his bird rights, so they’ll be able to go over the cap to sign him, but they can’t guarantee he’ll be around next season. This was expected, as Wallace is looking for long-term stability, but it’s just another player the Nets now can guarantee as a question mark.
