Around the Nets Monday: Late Edition

  • Today I made the not so bold prediction that Jason Kidd will be backing up Deron Williams somewhere. I purposefully left that statement cryptic, figuring Kidd would wait for Williams to make a decision and then follow him wherever he goes. Moments later, Stefan Bondy gave that prediction some context via this tweet. And then this one.
  • Nets fans getting antsy with the lack of activity so far? Don’t worry. New York Post’s Tim Bontemps says this is just the “calm before the storm.”
  • Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club opening on the inside of the Barclays Center will be open until 2 a.m., much to the dismay of local Brooklynites. For Nets fans long been driven to the bottle by on-court play, this is welcomed news.
  • BREAKING: Kris Humphries “Booty Call Girl” has apparently hooked up with other “high profile celebrities.” No word on if Humphries is yet considered high profile, or even a celebrity.
  • The Nets are a possible landing destination for lots of top free agents and one has to think the move to Brooklyn is a big reason why. Will the Nets be successful in landing any of these said free agents remains to be seen.
