Rod Thorn or Billy King. J-Kidd or D-Will. Which offseason was better. Take into account all the moves of both offseasons from the Draft to the beginning of the season.
November 1, 2012 at 11:19 am #47864I will go with the 2001 offseason move by move. Dealing for Jefferson and Collins in the draft was an absolute steal, and of course, the Jason Kidd trade turned the team into 2 time conference champs. The Johnson trade was great as far as getting Deron to stay but the measuring stick is really high here.

November 1, 2012 at 11:20 am #47865For now, I do have to go 2001. The Nets went from 26-56 to back to back finals trips. And put together a younger team than this one. I think this one will have more longevity because ownership is more committed, but I believe that offseason, in a vacuum, exceeds this one at the moment.
November 2, 2012 at 9:27 am #47977Yeah I figure for now the 2001 year will have the advantage of already having results. This one can have more longevity because we don’t have the Rat coming in to blow up the team

In the 2001 offseason, Nets got rid of Stephon Marbury.

November 2, 2012 at 12:54 pm #47995Devin, would you like to compare the two, team impact-wise?
November 5, 2012 at 6:25 pm #48341The thing with the 2012 offseason is the Nets created a team that ruled the east for 2 years, then nearly a third.
November 6, 2012 at 11:47 pm #48371Which two years will those be?
November 9, 2012 at 9:13 pm #484862001-2002 and 2002-2003 the years they won the East.
