    Very tough loss.

Was hoping Nets would become a better defensive team. Not too many signs of that thus far.

    Maybe time to sign Kenyon.

Kenyon is 35 and on bad knees. I think people love the idea of Kenyon, but I don’t know about the actual human being.

Kenyon would immediately become the best defensive frontcourt player on the Nets. Even guard some SFs too. Tough, and can still the run floor.

I’ve also read his knee problems are behind him, but of course, that is via the media.

We know we can never trust what the media says.

But fortunately, Nets have Jerry Stackhouse as an option at SF, so probably no need to sign anyone else.

I find the fact that no one signed him yet a bit telling of his character though. I mean think about it, guys like Troy Murphy are getting paid, while Martin is still at home. I’d honestly want neither, but between the two, I’m sure the conventional fan would choose Martin. Probably has something to do with his locker room presence, relationship with prior coaches, or his injury history which scares every team in the league.

    That is total manure.

At this point it is about defense and winning.

Kenyon could be waived at any point

Devin and JF (from PDF), I was expecting a response at this point from one of you.

Devin, you are the media, so your opinion doesn’t actually count. You are a very (VERY) lower scale politician.

JF,  as you are an actual fan, your opinion is worth more, depending whether you are an actual NBA fan, or just a Net fan that lives in NJ.

Took you two posts to try to denigrate my post?

Typical media. You hooked up with Bill O’Reilly somewhere along the line?

Are you both Pearl Washington fans?

Aw now, don’t be a lemon. This is all in good fun.

But am I a politician or typical media or Bill O’Reilly!? I NEED ANSWERS. All because of Kenyon Martin, of course.

Wynn if Kmart is still as good as you say…then why hasn’t any team picked him up yet?  I love Kmart, but as the saying goes one bad apple can spoil the bunch, and right now this team does not need his charcter issues.  and actually the team has improved from preseason on defense, give it time. even the great Miami Heat team started out 8 and 9…

Yeah Andres, Kenyon tore those Clippers apart.

Reggie Evans must have been a big problem also, as Clippers weren’t willing to re-sign him at near minimal money.

But Reggie is playing for some team, is he not?

A team agreed to a three-year contract with Reggie Evans before the July 11th opening date. Kenyon can’t get someone to bite for the minimum in November. That should tell you something.

I really, really hope someone offers Kenyon a D-League contract. If he thinks he’s really able to play at the NBA level, let him prove it by dominating guys who are gunning for their shot.

I thought Kenyon proved it in the playoffs last season. That’s what tells me something. My eyes. Not some non-report about nothing concrete.
